I am really thankful for this site. It really helps me when I am in the depths of a depression. Reading the posts on here reminds me that the torture is only temporary. It helps me hang on.
Thanks for this!

I wish I'd known about this site when I was going through the mixed episode that finally forced me into treatment, but am SO glad to have discovered it in the early days of recovery. (I use that term with caution because I know bipolar can't be cured, only managed.) And I'll be even more glad for PC the next time I crash, because there will always be people here who know what I'm going through.

Me too... The friends I have made on here I believe have saved me from some very difficult times. I was in a very low desperate place for a long time and was encouraged at my worst times by my friends on this site. They helped me by understanding, listening and encouraging. Giving me hope in those dark moments when it seems there is no end to the long tunnel of depression. I come here everyday to this site because I am so grateful to these people. Better than any therapy or medication is knowing someone understands and has been there and come out on the upper end. Hope.... I will come here everyday from here on out no matter what to check in and help if I can and I am sure there will be another day when I will need help again. Its an amazing site and I dont know what I would do with out it now.

I'm new to the forum - just a few weeks now, but I completely agree. It is so comforting to read posts from people who experience the same things I do. My head just doesn't work the same way as all of the other people in my life, and it can be lonely and very frustrating at times. People who aren't BP just don't really understand, and probably never will - they truly can't relate to our daily struggles. I wish some of us lived closer geographically and could have a face-to-face support group every now and then!

Special thanks to everyone here on the forum. I read your thoughts throughout the day and post my own here and there, and it definitely helps - it's kind of like therapy for me.

I agree. Plus it is nice to help other people. Helping other people boosts mood. Like that saying goes "it is better to give than receive," and it's actually true.

It helps not to feel so isolated and alone. It gives a glimmer of hope in that darkest hour.

It is a great place, because we have great people. I've been to a few other places but there is something about PC that is special, its a safe place. I wish I found it years ago too. But I'm always happy when I see new people come to the site, and people with new diagnoses, I hope everyone can get what I have from PC.. Support, friendship, understanding, strength.... new ideas, insight.

I love that people at PC are so welcoming to everyone, that's the speacial factor.
