Hi all... I've never posted in this part of the forum before. I'm not completely sure if I'm Bipolar or if it's other stuff.

Sometimes I feel great! I get stuff done, I'm creative with art and music, I'm happy, and I'm outgoing!

Then I have times when I feel so depressed... sometimes to the point where I have hurt myself. I don't want to talk to anyone and I don't feel like doing anything at all...

I have ADHD and I've been told that this can result in both depression and hyperactivity, but I feel like it may not be the only thing going on... because sometimes I feel really happy, but really sad at the same time... I don't get it. Sometimes I don't feel like my moods reflect how I feel like I should be feeling...

If you think you may have bipolar then you need to see a mental health specialist such as a psychologist or psychiatrist. No one on the forum will diagnose you. If your symptoms are creating problems for you then you need treatment.

I finally made an appointment with a therapist, so hopefully he will clear some things up for me.

ADHD continues when stable whether you have depression or bipolar. A lot of signs overlap. If you got the dx. as a child it may be time to get a 2nd opinion.

Not for 2 weeks... it's with a psychologist. My general doctor is the one who said I have ADHD.

It's good you're going to a psychologist, you probably will also need to see a psychiatrist.

Before you go in start a mood chart. I recommend the chart at Optimism Online. It's web, PC, and app compatible (if you have an iPhone, which I don't so I use web.) It's fully customizable, so you can track your ADHD and symptoms of bipolar if you think you might be having them. Have you taken the mania and depression quizes on this site? I recommend doing so because it gives you kind of a broad spectrum idea of what all the symptoms are. You can save the resluts to your profile so that you can take them in to your appointment along with your mood chart.

Yeah I took the Bipolar screening quiz and it said that my answers were similar to those with "severe bipolar". I know I shouldn't take that as a professional opinion, but it got my attention enough to ask about it.

attentionThis is an old thread. You probably should not post your reply to it, as the original poster is unlikely to see it.
