I had it on Risperdone and had to go off of it. I am hoping I don't have it on Geodon. My pdoc wants to wait a little longer before I get a blood test.

I've had no problems on Geodon.

I've never heard of anyone saying they had that problem on geodon. It seems to be a common problem with risperdal though.

I had it on risperidone. Geodon just made me feel like I'd eaten an atomic bomb.

Hallelujah! Right?

(I don't remember how old you are and as a Southern girl I would never ask a woman her age. Anywhere close to menopause? Are your cycles always regular as clockwork or does this happen on occasion?) You didn't mention if you've had an milk production or not. (Feel free not to answer that question.)

I don't know about the prolactin, but Geodon didn't work for me.

I liked Geodon (it did control the racing thoughts and ruminations) except for the persistent drowsiness in the mornings despite all efforts to take it on different schedules to eliminate the problem. I found myself literally falling asleep behind the wheel on the way to work and noticeably groggy while trying to teach Shakespeare at 9:00 in the morning. Not a good combination.

Except for the really big problem listed in my signature, Geodon has given me absolutely no trouble.

Yeah, that would be a crappy side effect too.
Thanks for this!

I am 38, so maybe perimenopause is a possibility. My pdoc says it isn't likely, though. I have had periods of irregularity in my life, but over the last 15 years, I have been regular except for the times I was pregnant, and the time on Risperdone. No milk production that I have noticed, but I have been having the feeling I got when my milk came down for nursing my kids. I didn't have any milk production on Risperdone either.

I never had an issue with prolactin while on Geodon from a high dose in 2004-2006 or from a moderate dose from 2007 to present. My endo checks my prolactin levels every so often and they've always been good.
