I am done with shoe shopping for summer, for the moment. It is hard to find shoes that fit for me. Not just the size (11) but something about my feet. So I shop at Title Nine and then return what I does not work at their local store. The store accepts returns (unlimited return policy) but does not carry actual shoes so I cannot try them on before buying.

Three pages of shoes. Calmly went through everything. Was annoyed that more than 50% are out of stock. Ended up purchasing only 2 pairs. No elevated heart beat. Completely in my rational mind. Did not become cheery. Declined shoes with very low profile even though they look good - I know my feet would hurt in them. Also wanted to buy non-shoe items but quickly decided that those I better try on at the store - it is more rational.

But the most amazing thing is the absence of elevated heartbeat. I remember how it was before meds. Half of IKEA catalogue, mind you.

And it is not that I learned self-control. It is that the meds took away the urge. I have not been fighting anything when I arrived at the sum total of 2 pairs of shoes in the basket.

At least now I know what exactly I am paying for with the pretty ominous side effects that I have...
I hope at least one of these two pairs fits.

I'm so glad you had a wonderful, un-elevated, shoe shopping day. When do you get the shoes?

Thank you. I hope to get them by the end of next week, even though officially it is 7-10 business days.

That's great you are able to shop with clarity now!

I know how you feel about shoes except I feel that way about clothes. I can't find clothes I like and fit me anywhere. I end up just buying clothes that are meh, okay, but not really my style. I only buy them because they fit, at least try to pick a color I like if possible. Sometimes this makes me very sad.

But, I'm not a shopper. I hate shopping. It makes me angry.

Alas, both will have to go back to the store. I must say, I find finding shoes for me no lesser task than finding a med combo that works. So many factors.
