Hi All,
I haven't been posting lately but I read you all every day. OK, here's the thing. Amazingly stupidly I started drinking heavily again 5 weeks ago after 10 months off the sauce. Yesterday I saw my pdoc who said I am (a bit) paranoid and psychotic, triggered by alcohol. So I am off work for a few days, and along with the below I have to take Invega (first time) and valium for detoxing off alcohol. I haven't started the Invega yet because the pharmacy has to order it. Anyway, I was lying on the sofa this morning and about 5-10 mins after I woke up a sort of 'electronic' voice behind my right shoulder said 'hello'. Is that a hallucination or that hypnagogia thing or nothing? . I know no-one here can tell me for sure, just wondering. Thanks a lot, BB

Have you heard the voice again since? If it continues, you may be hallucinating, it may be withdrawal from the alcohol, or it may just be a fluke. Do you live in an apartment or close to a neighbor or sidewalk? Sometimes voices carry and will sound like they are in one place when they come from somewhere completely different.
You were right in that it is not possible for any of us to determine what it is. Just keep an ear open to see if it happens again, and report it to your pdoc if it does.

If you were waking up, it isn't a big deal. Same with if you were falling asleep.
If it keeps up, that's another thing. Or maybe you have ghosts ![]() |
