At ECT today they said that I will have one more weekly treatment and then I will go biweekly. They will give me an off road driving test.
Does anyone know what this test is like? |

ECT or not I have no idea what means & why the average driver would need it?

I have no idea. I was only not allowed to drive on the days I received a treatment, but on the other days I could since I wasn't disoriented. My husband we did not allow to drive for awhile because he really was very disoriented and we were concerned about him literally getting lost.
"Off road"? Maybe they'll just have you drive around the parking lot a few times to be sure you know what you are doing? Really just a guess. It doesn't sound like anything terribly "formal" though. I wouldn't worry too much about it unless you really are concerned about your ability to drive. |

I am picturing a quiz on what road signs and signals mean. I am so nervous for tests like this that I mess up a lot.
"Off road" was my own wording. The nurse just called it a driving test. I asked if we were going to actually go on the road and she said "no," but when I pressed her for details, she either pretended she didn't know or really didn't because she couldn't answer me. I have not been allowed to drive since I started treatment and it was made very clear that I was not to drive at all between treatments. I am so itchy to get out and do errands and take my kids places and stop relying on my parents who have to drive 25 to 40 minutes, depending on traffic to cart us all around. I haven't driven since May 16 when I went into the hospital. |
