Do you ever think it's possible to have too much support? I think I need a break from services, but I think part of me is also scared about ''going off the rails''. I'm seeing a new Psych, but may ask for my former one back (I don't know what I was thinking). It just feels that the monthly appointments are too much, as is the fortnightly one with Support Worker. I asked the latter about this who told me that Psych would offer 4 month appointments when I seemed better/stable. My GP wants to see me on a monthly basis. Anyone else think this is a bit...overkill lol? x
Thanks for this!

Sometimes you just get darn tired of appointments and talking. I can relate. Sometimes we do need a break. Its not the support we are tired of its, the rushing to appt's, the busyiness, the checking in, other people, traffic, etc...

I would ask your pdoc if you can take a break, You know where they are so if you need them you can find them!! I see my pdoc every three months...for me its about meds only, and that they have to see me every three months. It works very well for me. I always tell them that I know where to find them if I do need them and I havn't for a very long while.

Thinking of you!

I just 'graduated' from every 2 weeks to monthly appointments, so I'm feeling ya hon. I love my pdoc to death, but it's been really intense (not to mention expensive) these past five months and now that I've stabilized, there's no reason to keep up that frantic pace. Now if I can just get my family to back off and let me breathe.......but that's a whole other story!

I like frequent appointments. It is easier to get to everything this way. You are not so overwhelmed by "wow, I have to stuff one month's worth of happenings into 30 mins".

You may want to correlate appointments to 1x a month. can you do you pdoc, GP and SW the same day it may help make you feel less supported.

Oh yea! I hated when I had weekly and bi-weekly appointments, even once a month is annoying. Went to three months then just disappeared...heh, never bothered to tell doctor I was going off meds. Oops!
