Likely you can't rush out and buy it now, but melatonin.

Helps recover sleep patterns. You can find it at the drug store with the vitamins.

I take it in place of lorazepam at bedtime. 3 or 6 mg. Tablets I get are 3 mg, but there are 1mg and 5 mg as well.

You have to actually go to bed after you take it...won't knock you out in front of the machine. If you use it for too many consecutive nights it may lose its effectiveness.

It's obviously easier to sleep with the meds for me, but in addition to that, I have to have the television on to help me fall asleep. I need the distraction, otherwise my brain is constantly going...
But I set the sleep timer on the tv to turn off in like 60-90 minutes so that I don't wake back up.

I'm sorry you can't sleep. I wouldn't be able to fall asleep before one or two in the morning without the meds.... so without them I would def try the melatonin, or even a p.m. med like advil or exedrin cuz it has a sleep agent in it.

I wish you good luck and keep us posted what works for you.

I can't sleep WITH meds either. Have tried melatonin, sleeping pills, and currently take a Benzo that doesn't help much. Yoga helps me sometimes but not always.

I use seroquel. But other things that help me is when I'm more active that day or evening. Taking a bath - it soothes me. I have a fan blowing plus that helps the night sweats. lol Listening to soft music or having the tv on low for noise.

white noise can help. stay away from electronics an hour before hand. or a really extreme way, eat a lot of sugar and wait for the crash
