I have some crazy dreams! And I don't know if they are in relation to my meds (Oxcarbazepine) or what, but last night in particular was crazy. I have this reocurring dream that I am being chased, and its in various settings, woods, malls, house, etc. And whoever is chasing me is usally trying to kill me, I'm assuming because I'm freaking out and running for my life. At any rate, have any of you had such a stressful dream that you have to wake yourself up? I had to do so after the 'killer' caught me when I was hiding. Some people at work work think thats crazy, others not so much. Just curious...

When my depression was severe, I had horrible nightmares. I was always running to and someone was trying to kill me. I remember being riddled with bullet holes, then waking up.

I have been able to wake myself up from bad dreams before once I hit myself on the head. That's actually lucid dreaming, if you can consciously do something in your dream, awarenes that you are dreaming. The med you say, I think is seroquel, and I have heard of people having crazy dreams on it.
I had 2 lucid dreams in past week, where I fought an attacker - he didn't stand a chance, it was empowering. Because I spent years in fear and at mercy of my bad dreams. If you check out the sleep and dreams forum here at pc, there is a person there who is really really good at interpretations, how to learn lucid dreaming etc. |
