I recently added an extra lithium to my little bipolar cocktail, and it's making me pee whether I want to or not. So far for the past week and a half I've been avoiding water during the day and only tea or miso soup at night and I'm still peeing day and night and it's so aggravating!

I don't want to drink more water because more water=more pee, and I've got school I don't want to be that weird kid who has to pee every ten minutes.

What do I do? How do I make the thirst and the urinating stop!

You could end up dehydrated and quite ill because of that and the lithium.

I would drink and pea and wait until you stabilize. As cocoabeans points out, dehydration on lithium is the last thing you need. Drink to you heart's content! If your urine becomes complete colorless (without even a tint of yellow), notify your doctor. That could be a kidney problem. If you drink and drink and cannot drink enough, notify your doctor. But just regular 8 glasses of water a day should not be a problem (subtract your tea if you wish). I drink little water, but I drink roughly one cup of tea per hour, so it is more than 8 glasses a day, and I am fine.
Thanks for this!

I'm not sure what to do with work and classes.

Is dizziness a side effect of dehydration? I was super busy while I was housecleaning and had the person I was helping give me an apple and water (I didn't tell her I was dizzy)

My pdoc told me to stop drinking water after 8:00 pm, and to quench my thirst with chipped ice. Why? Because I get up six times a night to pee. During the day I make sure my territory is well marked. The only time I can't pee is when a urine sample is required.
Did I follow his advice? No. Personally, if I can go right back to sleep, what's the problem? Do I like that I spout darn near as much as the boy in the Belgium fountain? No, but if people would throw coins I could learn to.
Thanks for this!

Hell yes dizziness is a side effect of dehydration! Of ADVANCED dehydration. And - speaking of lessons - your mental capacities diminish after as little as 1% dehydration. So it is pointless and dangerous to restrict water for the sake of lessons.
