I just played with some threads to check if the counter knows that you are visiting a particular thread more than once. It does! It does not count multiple visits from the same userid. Views are unique!

it's designed that way hammy

I aint much technical...but

it's designed that way

the 'system' recognises "you"....

and "others"

it will only register 'you' and the 'others' "once"

and I only just registered how many punctuations I used...hehe

The thing is, someone else on this board has said that it counts every visit.

I don't understand. Why is the counting of the views important?

At issue was whether the views are unique. In other words, when the counter shows 100, have 100 living breathing human beings visited your topic or have 10 people returned to the topic 10 times each?

But I guess I was asking what does it matter how many people have visited your topic?

My curiosity with the topic about how many people really view the forums but we never know they're here.

It's a public forum. People just go on here and read this stuff. Psych Central is one of the 1st sites that pop up when you google Bipolar.
