Don't do that! I did that a few months back and quickly spiraled into a manic episode. It's common. You don't want that. No one does. If you are unhappy with your meds, you can talk to your doc about it and get them switched. Or at least talk to your doc about tapering off of them so you don't have an episode. Please?

They are still in your system so if you go off of them, you won't stay feeling as good as you are now.
Thanks for this!

I can relate. When I feel my old self it makes me a little nostalgic. But then I think about some of the bad that comes with the old self and I know that I am taking my meds to avoid being the screaming banshee. If you wanna get off your meds, talk to the doc. Thinking good thoughts for you today.

Yeah, I agree that there is a lot wrong still with our treatment. But it's still better than being untreated. I guess that everyone needs that "trial and error". Stay safe, okay?

Ugh today has even wild ever since I woke up and now get the idea that I'm being watched! I know this is not medicine related so I think I'm just losing it. Feeling paranoid, nervous jumpy and full of energy. I suppose I could be hypo. I know meds stay in your system or days so that can't be it I suppose I could be in a cycle.

The hole, or pit, you will tumble into head first, is the least of your problems when going cold turkey. Re-adjustment is when most go crawling back to the chemical safety net. After withdrawls, IF you make it that far, is re-adjustment period. Topsy turvy upside down inside out cycling, as your brain tries to make sense of the missing chemicals... Thats some crazyass s.h.i.t! has most of us heading straight for the pills cos we think we are now worse off..buuut, what do I know tho, just quit a year ago...

Well, I'm gonna' add that if you insist on stopping medications, you'd better be prepared to change your diet radically and quickly; otherwise, you are going to be experiencing big changes in your feeling tone.

Many of the medications counteract some bad eating habits and so contribute to stability. It's best to drop those diet habits that are not good if you don't want to
take medications: stop alcohol, anything with caffeine, including chocolate, white flour products, beef, pork, and milk products. Go with more fish, lamb, take fish oil (for fatty acids including 3-6-9 fatty acids).

Drink plenty of water (purified) and eat a fresh salad daily. When the going gets tough, as it will, drink freshly sqeezed lemon water.

If it gets too rough on you, start back on your medications, at a lower dosage just
to get you stabilized.

If these don't help, PLEASE contact your psychiatrist and get help.

We aren't doctors, so we can't diagnose, but we can tell you what has worked for us in the past.

Take care and do keep in touch to let us know how you are.
