Today was my 4th hypnotherapy session in the last 7 days . I have many more scheduled in the next couple of weeks.

My T thought that intense frequent sessions may help with my chronic pain and all the lovely overwhelming BP issues that I have been unable to control at all.

So far I can report good results Pain decrease for a few hours after each session and trust me I will take any moment of a decrease in pain.

I have gotten a unbelievable amount of sleep over the weekend that is a complete shock since I normally sleep a couple hours a nite at most If I sleep at all.

No real relief from the hallucinations as of yet.

I'm so grateful my T feels so strongly about hypnotherapy .. my first session a year ago I honestly went into it thinking it was a joke ..I'm glad I was pleasantly surprised .

Has anyone else used hypnotherapy as part of there treatment?

Do you know, Morenothingswrong, if most people can be hypnotized? Does it take a
special person to be able to go into an hypnotic state and were you requested to
try hypnotherapy by your psychiatrist?

I've been thinking about its value for a long time and wonder if it will be as effective
as electric shock treatments. I think I've been told they last about 7 years.

If it is effective for you, please let us know when you're well into the series. I think
it's a consideration for any of us who might have an episode that is difficult to manage.

I'm not sure what the therapy does, mtm, but I hope it works for you because I know the fibro. (don't know how to spell it, and I hope I'm getting the name right!) is so painful for you. Pain go away!

So happy for you! Yes, there are tests to see if you can be hypnotized. I've done it about 12 times, and am soooooo much more calm and peaceful.

I posted in the success thread, but I'll post here too. I was recently certified, so if anyone would like to try it via Skype, PM me.

It is amazing!
