So I get hard out dejavu sometimes. I kind of use it as a guide or something cos I dream of the future and then get dejavu hard out and know I'm on the right track with we're I want to be / am meant to be in life.
Sometimes it's annying though cos I can feel I'm building up to a big thing but can't remember what it is. Either that or I'm a bit hypo and it's pure chemicals haha. My friend told me dejavu is mini seizures and misfiring in the brain. So, anyone else get dejavu? And is it linked to hypo mania for them? Or is it a true thing? |

I have experienced something, I guess you would call it dejavu. I will dream something, but not remember it until it is happening in waking life. Then I will say " O know what is happening"

My understanding of Deja vu is that we have many experiences throughout our lives and many of them have similarities. When we experience Deja vu we are experiencing something that is very similar to a previous experience that we do not remember in our conscious mind.

I have heard that explanation also. Just heard the one about dreaming something and it coming true more than the other.

I get this a lot, triggered by a thought, a song, or even a certain smell seems to bring on a feeling that somehow I know I have been here before

I used to get it all the time which felt odd cause it was like redoing things over and over again. I don't know what caused them for me I never remember being hypo.

I've had that "dream and it happens." Mine was that before I went to Italy, like 2-3 days before, I had a dream I was looking out of a window at an old court yard and there was a big silver dishwasher in the corner (like 5 foot tall dishwasher) and there were nuns dancing on the roof.
The first day at the place we stayed in Rome, it was this really old building that was converted. It had beautiful big windows that had shutters open right to the air. Anyway, we walked to the end of all and looked down. And I was staring at the exact same court yard, except it wasn't a giant silver dishwasher, it was a big air conditioning unit. And there were no nuns dancing, but I found out it was originally a convent! ![]()

I get deja vu a lot too, I think it's pretty normal and common. It's such a weird feeling especially if it lasts a little longer, but I find it kind of enjoyable too.

I don't like it. I get it sometimes. It's like something really familiar, something that I have forgotten and almost, almost can remember. it's a smell, it's a scene, a certain phrase or the way someone says something.
I hate it cuz it ALWAYS goes back to my childhood. I have a lot of regrets so this can be triggering sometimes. |

I remember I was 12 when they started becoming frequent. Sometimes I sense I've done this before, and then BAM it hits me, or sometimes I realize whats going to happen next, as its unfolding... Mine are always in the form of dreams, that become reality... Sometimes something silly and insignificant, like a conversation, but I can recite the entire dialogue verbatim beforehand... Apparantly its common, so I dont take much notice.

yea i get those. and sometimes the dream before it happens dream. those dreams are helpful and helped me make a different choice to avoid the consequences in the dream.
for example, small and weird example i dreamed i was at a renaissance faire in a port-a-potty trying to do lines of coke. my mom was outside hollering for me. it was one of those dreams you wake up thinking wtf was that. i don't even do coke, weird. so about a year later, i started doing that drug a bit. my mom and i had plans to go to the ren faire. my kids were staying with my mom for the night and a guy i knew called me and asked if i wanted to party the night before. so it all came together, if he came over the night before, he would be leaving me with some coke for the next day which usually happened, and i would be bringing it to the ren faire with my mom and my kids and snorting lines in a gross port-a-potty. so, i didn't have the guy over. and at the ren faire the next day, i was in that same big green port-potty from the dream, and my mom was hollering at me from outside to see if i could let my daughter in with me, she had to pee too. so i did the right thing, thanks dream! |

I read recently on a funny web site that deja vu is like in a video game where you "died" and had to restart at your last save point.

Yes! Usually happens when I haven't been sleeping.
It bothers me a lot especially when it turns into a sort of feeling like I know what is going to happen next which starts me on all sorts of crazy thoughts like I've got special abilities, access to alternate realities or some such. Crazy, nonsense that I have learned to dismiss. Mostly though it is annoying and I can just brush off these sensations as being tired and my brain not processing the really boring things I do regularily properly. I really hate that depending on my mood I've got to sit around dismissing the bs that passes through my brain, makes me so damn tired! |

I too find it enjoyable sometimes---I'll find myself doing everything I'd done before, wondering how long it would last. Then sometimes I don't like whatever it is, and I figure out whatever action/movement needed to "nix" it.

Heh, meee too! There always seems one thing you can do to interrupt it if it is uncomfortable. Sometimes, I wish it happened more often.
