I am so happy that he is getting help . Everytime I have gone Inpatient it has been a huge help .

Tell him I said Hiya and wishing him the best

Also thanks "MOM" for letting us know .. We all tend to get really worried if we dont hear from someone in a few days.

Oh yes Clinte's Mom, thank you for letting us know. I am so glad he is getting some help. We will all be thinking of him and sending him, you and his family good thoughts.

I have not had ECT but I know we do have members that have. There is another area to our forum that might be some help..http://forums.psychcentral.com/forumdisplay.php?f=122 it is listed under "other treatments" and includes ECT, you can scroll through there for some ECT threads or make a thread there. Also you could make a new thread in this bipolar forum and put questions about ECT in the title so everyone will see that, and hopefully you will get the info you and Clinte need.

Please send our love, and make sure to take care of yourself too Clinte's Mom!

This is a good topic on ECT...

http://forums.psychcentral.com/showthread.php?t=93949

This is another intro topic about it that suggests adult treatment center/day programs as opposed to ECT. (The last post)

I think that enrolling him in a outpatient day-program would help on top of whatever treatment he gets. An outpatient program usually lasts a few weeks and he would be in close-contact with professionals who could help further his stabilization. I also think that an outpatient program would help because it will give him structure.

Yes an outpatient program would be good, and offer more intensive therapy. It did help me a lot. Maybe there is a program there through the hospital that would be able to work for him .

Hi Clinte's mom,
Thank you for letting us know. Can you tell him hi, and I'm proud of him for going in for help. I have no experience with ECT. Sounds pretty scary to me personally, but some people here do it. We can start a new thread on here with ECT question in the title if you want, to try to get you more responses. Let us know. My best wishes for you and your family. Nice to meet you, thanks for coming on here and keeping us posted. Clinte's a sweetie.

Another "hello" here... from me to both Clinte and yourself and to join the chorus of thank yous for letting us know. Your son is part of a really amazing community of caring people -- and it's true--- we really do think about others here even when we're not online, and do worry when we don't see someone, especially when they are having a rough patch.

I don't have any personal experience with ECT, but hope you find the threads that others linked helpful. Also agree with others in that posting with ECT in the title of its own thread should prove useful in eliciting answers from those that have had it.

Sending best wishes for everything to go well and sss

Thannk you caring it means a lot to me to know that there are others that care for him. He is my heart and my life and i want to do whatever it takes to get him better. i will keep searching on the ECT deal and maybe if someone can start a new thread on ECT it would be greatly appreciated as i can only hop in here to see if anyone has messaged him or to see if anyone has ever gone and had ECT done thank you again!!
