I am not sure how to answer. I have been on disability for about 7 years. I did some volunteer work for Canadian Mental Health in that time. I will be starting work part time on Wednesday tho.

I'll put disabled bipolar since that would be true for the last 7 years.

I chose "Other."

I'm employed full-time, but on probation with a date in a few weeks to be fired if I have not improved.

At this point, I see no way to keep from being fired unless I get a brain transplant and can suddenly understand my job, and the bipolar magically disappears.

So for the last few days, I've been FREAKING OUT.

One minute, I'm fine and I think I'll just let them fire me and I'll get unemployment for a while.

Then I start thinking I should be out there trying to find a job right now, even though where I live and with this economy, I'm probably going to make the same amount with a different job as I would receive on unemployment.

The difference is health insurance.

For the most part. Took about 3 weeks though to adjust to it. I'm starting to get tired of the part time job though. But I have to keep it b/c my full time job is only temporary.

I am currently unemployed due to ill health. I was sacked in May 2011 on ill health grounds. I have only been on disability since September 2012 though as I have never put myself forward for DLA. However I was told to go for it and I got it. I didn't think I would get it but I did. I have it until 2017. I can work on it though I just need to tell them if I am gonna work.

I have decided next year I will start looking for a job and or go back to college so I can go back to a similar job I had previously.

I was working full time (but that was about all I was able to do, work and get by) and then I moved and have worked part time and on a temp basis. But I've gotten depressed and had higher anxiety and I had major anxiety in my last temp job and had to quit. Right now I get panicky just looking at job listings.

It's weird because moving has been very very positive in a lot of ways, including giving me a level of clarity and insight about my bipolar disorder and anxiety disorder(s). But it also made me more aware of how much I was struggling previously. I have safety nets here I didn't have at all and I made it through each day because I didn't feel I had a choice. I don't know it's weird and hard right now I wish I could understand everything.

Right after I was diagnosed with bipolar disorder I couldn't work for a few years. My therapist at the time discouraged me for applying for disability because my parents were in a financial situation to assist me. Now I'm getting help from my parents and boyfriend but I don't know what to do. It's something I've brought up with my current therapist.

'Not working' & 'Other'.
I've been job-searching relentlessly since I was 16 with not a single callback in the history of ever! And for the last two years, I've been applying for college, but my paperwork always gets ****ed up & I miss the semester. So, I'm pretty much just a home-maker until something comes through.
