Hi there
I'm not diagnosed with bipolar and im scared of talking to my parents about my symptoms. I always have mood swings, some days I feel very happy like I can save the world and the next thing you know, I'm crying all the time, feel extremlly guilty and irritable. During my mania phase, i'm very irritable, every little thing can irritate me and immedietly I become depressed. I can't live like this, I can't concentrate especially during my depressed state. On my mania phase, I'm on fire and I perform really well. Help me, I can't go on ![]() |

Your first step is to get an appointment with a psychiatrist.

You just gotta bite the bullet and write down what you just told us... give it to your parents and with any luck the rest will be taken care of for you. All you have to do is make them understand.. and you can do that via email, letter, a trusted friend to sit down and explain it... whatever. You just have to get that part done, and then you can relax while things around you happen and you get the help you need for whatever it turns out the issue is.
Good luck to you... keep us updated |

You can always start w/ your school counselor too. Its a lot easier to admit to someone who isnt as close as family that you feel your mind isnt functioning properly. Your counselor can refer you to a psychiatrist and it might be easier to talk to your parents after a "professional" suggests a psych appointment.
