After class I was away from my phone long enough to pump gas. I am always afraid of blowing up a gas pump... While I was outside the van, my daughter tried to call. She is only given one chance to make a call and I can't call back :-(

Awww I am sorry you missed her call. I know that would be hard, and you probably really just want to talk to your daughter, and her you.

You can't call her back ? Sorry I can not remember right at the moment if she was taken to a hospital, or she was taken somewhere else. My brain is mush tonight.

That is awful, not being able to call your own child.

She is in a psychiatric hospital. She wasn't charged but she is listed as a"behavioral risk" so she has very strict rules.

oh that is so sad

each state is so different it seems. here, my son and i are usually able to call each other a lot, even after times he has injured me. they even usually accomodate visitation hours if i can't come at the allotted time.

i would hope that you could at least call the hospital and the staff would pass on a message to her that you just missed the call but love her so much. even though she is on a hold, she is your baby girl, not theirs. maybe they could be understanding that you just missed the call but really want to talk to her. oh my gosh, i would be freaking out in your shoes, what a fright i'm so sorry you can't talk to her.

the hospital should know that communication with mom will help her healing.

big hugs Momma.

Yes I would hope so too Blue, and 13 is not that old. kids that age still do very much need their moms, seems a bit unjust.

We will be going at 12:30 to sign her aftercare program and visit with her- it will be the first time I have gotten to see her since this happened! Assuming the disappoinment of "her family not caring enough to answer her calls " (which is how I keep thinking it has to translate to her) and she acts out bc of it, she will get to come home tomo. I am a crazy bundle of emotions! Im excited and scared and sad to think of having to see her there but thrilled to get to see her ANYWHERE... Im crying like a baby and I have no idea if they are tears of joy, sadness or apprehension

I just got back from visiting her.Several things she said give me hope that she desires to change, a few things sounded like the old, self-pitying Faith. If all goes well, she will come home tomo

(((HUGS))) I know it's upsetting when you feel like you let your child down. As a mom of three I'm familiar with the feeling. Don't beat yourself up.
