Okay, so, a little while ago, I posted that my boss is trying to get me to quit. He still is, so I've resorted to job hunting again.
I found a job that might be good, but I'm a little nervous about it. It's working at a nursing home, either as a dietary aid or as a personal care giver. The HR woman was really nice, and she said that they're opening up a new wing and need more people for that. So there's a chance I might get the job. I'm so nervous though, because it's been two years since I interviewed last. I only interviewed once my entire life and it was for the job I still have today. I don't know what to do about it. And on Thursday, I also have an exam that I am not ready for. The exams are really hard, as everyone fails them. It's a pretty tough class and I'm not sure how to study for it! She asks questions that she doesn't present in the reading or in her lectures. I don't know what to do! So I'm a bit of a mess at the moment, I could use some advice or just some hugs. Really, that would be great.

You absolutely must exercise. This is something I learned from a colleague back when I taught test prep (I taught GMAT prep): determine what time your exam will be and exercise at that exact time the day before the exam (or on more days if you have that flexibility). Among many other good things exercise helps against anxiety.
Another absolutely crucial - cannot stress its importance enough! - compoment of success is being well hydrated. Mental acuity is diminished by even the slightest degree of dehydration, and you need all your mental faculties present at your service. That means taking a water bottle with you to the interview and sipping from it. A light snack with protein is very helpful. A peanut butter sandwich, some nuts and cheese etc. - if you are applying for a position in dietetics, you know the drill yourself. Make a list of your good qualities and relevant experiences, too. |

Well if the teacher is asking question she hasn't presented in reading or in lecture then she is sadistic and setting her class up to fail. There is no reason to feel nervous about it because you can't prepare for what you cannot possibly know. So instead go over your lecture notes, re-read important pieces and bullet points. If there was other reading the textbook that she didn't assign, skim through it.
I'll give you an odd tip. My habbit in college was to read all of the picture captions, and other bolded captions in every chapter. I never studied for tests, I just would read all the highlighted and bolded pieces. I got As the whole time on all exams doing that. So, my tip is to go through any unassigned chapters and read the bolded points and picture captions. Then, let it be. There isn't anything else to do at this point since tomorrow is Thursday.

Thanks all for your help and support! I think I have a better understanding of this exam this time around. I still don't think I'll do well, but we'll see.
