Good luck getting it approved. I've had ECT twice...There's nothing to fear. One minute you're conscious...the next thing you know, you're in the recovery room. I'm sure you're aware of this, but it's done on an outpatient basis. It takes just a few hours.

I have been maintenance ECT since July of 2011. I started to slide so I am currently have a series of six W-F-M-W-F-M... I have only two left Friday and Monday.. so tomorrow I have another treatment. I started feeling better after 3 treatments. I don't have my sense of humor back but I'm close.

I've been through ECT treatments twice and found it very helpful. It really is an easy treatment. Simple as falling asleep and waking up. Hopefully it will go well for you. Keep us informed.
