Hey guys,

Today I saw my new Psychiatrist. Well I say new but he is a Locum. So who know's if he will stay or not. Anyways I got him cause my old Psychiatrist left back in August. I last saw him 25th June. I haven't seen a Psychiatrist for nearly 5 months. A lot has happened in the last 5 months good and bad.

Usually when I go to see Psych I take along my mood diary that I write in and my mood charts which I get from a Psychiatry website. He reads it all and then asks questions. I usually see him for 20-30 mins and I usually see him every 6-8 weeks.

Today I was in under 10 minutes..... I AM RAGING!!

I spent ages writing out the basic information so he wouldn't need to sift through 5 months of paperwork. I wrote my sleep and when I struggled to get up, my mood, my anxieties which have been high for a few months and other information that could attribute to my moods ie the birth of my 1st Nephew, drama with my Sister etc etc!!

He asked me questions

1. What is my diagnosis?
2. What meds am I on?
3. What about Anti-Depressant's?
4. Do I live alone?
5. Do I have Siblings?
6. Do I work?
7. In response to "no" for Q.6 What do I do with my time?
8. How have I been feeling recently?

He looked at my sleep pattern and commented on the amount I sleep- lack of sleep.

I told him that my CPN (Community Psychiatric Nurse) had said to take an extra 25mg Serequol (Quetiapine) at night along with my 150mg XR and 25mg of Serequol to bring total up to 200mg. He has said not to do that but to take the extra 25mg in the morning???? Why when it is used for my sleep???????

I am just gonna keep to what my CPN has said until I see him next Tuesday.

I am really unhappy and unsure as to what the hell to think. 10 minute appointment, I get longer with my CPN. I actually felt like crying I was that angry. Then he was like see you in a few months, I'll get the receptionist to send out a letter to you and to your GP. WTF!!!

Wow. I'm shocked. I hate things went the way they did. I would suggest seeing someone else in practice or someone else outside or their practice. Maybe ur CPN can refer u to someone.
