If any of you have hugs to spare, I could really use them. It was so tough today to celebrate the life of my friend. I am so, so sad. It was a beautiful ceremony today, not a teary one, but one of celebration, and I was so pissed that she had to miss it! It was just as she would have liked, though, a montage of pictures, beautiful music, and wonderful stories. A luncheon followed, and then a party back at her house. Oddly enough, the party was the hardest for me because we had so many laughs when we were together socially. Another tough part is that she always had a Frison Bise dog, and when I saw one running through the house, looking for loving, I lost it!
Avoidance is one of my major defense mechanisms, and this time I couldn't, and wouldn't. It was my time to give back the love to her family that she gave me.

I agree with Roadie to have hugs to everyone, especially the dog. What a sad but beautiful post.

I read a thread you had written about this. Well, you did it, blue. Kudos. You overcame your obstacles and was there for your friend's family.......and for her. I'm so sorry for your loss. You were blessed to have had such a special friend.....and she was blessed, in return, to have had you.
