I wrote this when my husband passed away in Jan 2009. I was going through some stuff and came accross it.

Title- Whats going on?

lying there, wide eyes open
afraid to go to sleep
what might tomorrow bring?
I close my eyes, as sleep overcomes me
whats going on; this cant be real
I must be in a dream.
I take a step forward
begin to look around, and you
glowing, happy, and unafraid.
You reach out your hand
and I fill it with mine, your lips start to move
gentle words begin to fill my ears.
You and I know it was tough
but it was love and it was real,
it was what faith had put together.
The sun so bright, clouds in the sky;
the water lapping the sand
as you *kiss* me one last time.
I hear the words "I love you."
I open my eyes, I see a nurse;
Whats going on?
She flips off the switch and quietness fills the air;
panic, its happened, why?
Whats going on?
I jusmp up, take the dreaded look
and peace fills the room.
He's gone.
I'm still here, awake; alive
shock, whats going on?
I walk to the other side.
Days gone by, numbness and fear
many calls, many people
whats going on?
I walk into the room
and their he lye, his body
his soul in the sky.
I take his hand and kiss his face
"I will see you again,
some time again"
"I will keep you heart, I carry your heart. I will carry you heart in my heart always. I love you"
Whats going on?

attentionThis is an old thread. You probably should not post your reply to it, as the original poster is unlikely to see it.
