If your day isn't starting well but someone brings you a delightful heartwarming story, or something really belly-laugh funny (not a joke, something deeper than that) ... Can it significantly change your outlook ... your mood?

Would you say it's as effective as medication?

I see it as the switch flipper. I can become totally silly if things strike me just right... Even if I was in a funk for weeks

i see it as a tempary thing.

someone can tell me a joke, or share a funny video with me, but it won't last... as soon as the novelty of it wears off, i'm back to square 1

it can be very depressing and devastating to me, kind of like dangling a carrot in front of me, to be suddenly cheered up and then left alone. it's like, "here you go, have some of what you can never have. "

I'm on medication and I believe it's crap!...it immobilises my instinctive emotional energy.

laughter beats the hell outa' everything

I haven't had a real belly crack up for ages

...I'm comedy constipated and it sux Roadie

I take my pills but it's a real drag!...

I don't want them anymore...but I always stop suddenly and thats a nightmare for the head

(were not enough poll options...?)

"yes...I laugh , but it aint what it should be like".........

I am a firm believer that laughter is an incredible healing thing. And even if you can't laugh because of depression, you should surround yourself with funny things anyway, to help distract from the negative.
