and than they do...
The other day I looked at my hand and the back of my left hand was covered with tiny pin point broken blood vessels, hundreds of them.. ok kinda weird. I did not injure my hand in any way?? This morning I woke with a broken blood vessel in my eye, no big deal but I have had quite a few of these the last few months. It's making me mental, like tomorrow am I gonna wake up covered in broken blood vessels. Oh no your blood work is perfect, couldn't be more perfect they say. I sent last week lying on the kitchen floor, bathroom floor or what ever floor I could make it to in severe abdominal pain, like knife like, not the upper or lower.. just the whole thing.. yes I even punched a wall and screamed and swore.. not like me at all. Tore of my clothes because I was literally dripping in sweat and feeling extremely weak. I think I am going to go see an ND, I am done with regular dr's practicing in regular western medicine. I don't want to deal with this anymore. And I do not want to keep getting depressed over it. I don't even really know what else to do at this point. So any idea...any of you ever have that happen? I know ones in the eye are common and can be nothing at all, sneezing what have you. The hand tho.. experience anything like that? If any one has any ideas at all. I am so confused at this point. I love a good mystery but I am frankly very over this... ![]()

I have no idea.
![]() I'm worried for you. ![]() Is your abdomen pain better? Did you go to the doctor for that? I wish I knew what was going on and have the right cure.

Yes it is better for now DH, well I went to the er remember but they said they didn't really know, everything looked good. I went home and then it got worse. And now better... really wth?
I don't know either it's weird, I am trying to take really good care of my body so I don't know. I tried so many google searches I cannot search anymore. I don't think it's their fault either, they just don't know, and my body seems to mask whatever the problem is very well. Sad when you almost pray for bad blood results just so they figure it out. I am trying to just deal with it as it comes, so I don't go over the edge. Thank god I only work a few days a week. I am always worried about cancer since my mother and sister had it and most of my mothers relatives, but this doesn't really sound anything like that to me that I am aware of.

I worry about cancer, too. But, from what I understand, my mom didn't have any pain before being diagnosed. They found it because my sibling was miscarried so they did a test or something to find out what happened, and that lead to an abnormality that lead to a mamogram that showed the cancer... or something like that. I was only 2 so that's what I've come to understand over the years. But, I don't know if that's always true, either.
I know what you mean. If the blood test is bad, then they will know what is wrong. Did you have a ultrasound? That's how they found out what was wrong with me. I don't know. ![]() The blood vessle thing is strange tho. ![]()

Yes they did an ultra sound and everything looked good, normal. They took five viles of blood and a urine sample.
My mom had ovarian cancer and my sister cervical, but my sisters spread rapidly to her stomach, esophagus etc, neither had pain or symptoms before it was detected either. My sisters was found when she went for a prenatal check up. The broken blood vessels in the hand is weird, and that is bugging me. I guess I will go see my GP one last time and see. I think he thinks I am just mental by this point tho.

Well, but at least broken blood vessels are visible. If he thinks your mental, then that should keep him quiet... I hope he doesn't think that, though.

Arrrg... Just found it is called petechiae and IS seen in celiacs and lupus both.
I am going to recheck all the food I have been eating. I know there is gluten in my shampoo and body wash and makeup, I was hoping I was not THAT sensitive to it because finding that stuff is hard not too mention expensive!! I have also been known to do stupid stuff like lick envelopes at christmas, ya of course there is gluten in that glue. I didn't think about it till after of course. I wonder if the less you are exposed to it the worse you reation will be when you are.. I dunno I am so confused. Yes DH I am pretty sure he does think I am a bit mental. Did you see the thread in news and current events forum about the new change for the DSMV .. Ahh is that what it's called? Being sick for more than 6 months when doctors cannot find the cause will then be considered a mental illness, basically that is the gist of it... Absurd!! K well I am gonna try to figure this out. Thanks DH, sometimes just gotta vent a bit to keep from going crazy.

Well, I have a Dx of psychosomatism. I hate that one. It makes me feel like they think I make things up. Which is why things happen like I end up in the hospital needing my gallbladder removed, because obviously all that pain was just me making it up.
![]() I don't even bother telling people half the things I'm dealing with anymore because of that type of stuff.

Do you think that it is possible that your physical symptoms might have a psychological origin? I'm not trying to trivialize your pain; whether you have a "physical" illness or not, you are in hell, and suffering much more than you ought to be. The summer before I left for college, I found some weird bruises on my body. So, out of curiosity, I googled "bruising easily" and got a lot of hits for leukemia...it scared the crap out of me. From mid June until late August, all I could think about was cancer, and how I was going to die from it before I even got a chance to go off to college. Anyway, the stress and anxiety was enough to give me physical symptoms. I was very dizzy, suffered from malaise, my lymph nodes were very tender, and I had flu-like symptoms. There was nothing physically wrong with me; it was all in my mind. Do you think that you could be having a similar situation? The blood vessels in your left hand could have caused you to get anxious about your health. The anxiety, in turn, produced the other physical symptoms. Also, you mentioned that you feel depressed. It is very common for depressed people to believe that their bodies are diseased, rotting, or broken in some way. These convictions can reach delusional proportions. Again, I'm not saying that you're "crazy", or that your pain is not real. It's very real. I just want to give you a possible explanation so that you can find a way to feel better sooner. Keep us updated...

Just read the last few posts about psychosomatizing...again, I don't mean to trivialize what you're going through. If your physical symptoms have a psychological cause, they are just as real and just as awful as they would be if they had a physical cause. I know that you're not "making it up", regardless of where your symptoms are coming from.

Yeah it's a real shame!! I would fight that dx DH, doctors fail to find stuff all the time, just like your gLlblader. It makes me sick to think about that. Bodies were designed to tell us when something is wrong and all I see that as is a perscription to ignore your own bodies warning systems.
Trust me I know what you mean, they always look at me like I am crazy. Canada also started using an online integrated medical gah can't think of the word. Basically my dx will always show up at any dr's office along with meds and stuff. Better care for some, worse for others depending what is in there. Trust you own body tho, it knows better than anyone when something is off. That naturopath I saw told me all the same stuff was wrong in one visit that my dr's took years to come up with.. go figure and I dosn't have much faith and I didn't tell her much. She didn't ask much, just quielty scanned you whole body and read the energy which took maybe 45 minutes or so.

Secretum no I don't think so. I have been dx with celiac. I am being sent to an immunologist for more thorough lupus testing. Often autoimmune diseases go hand in hand and are not clear cut trying to figure them out.
I was not depressed before hand, that is an after affect. I have been very stable all year and still ended up with a molar rash, visible inflamation etc. I wouldnt really say I am depressed even, just a bit sad because I just want to feel healthy.. Like everyday I want to feel vital and do what I want to and not be held back. I had abnoramal cells biposied from my large intestine which at first they thought was chrones . I have had low white blood cell counts and malabsorption of a few key vitimans in the past. So I do know something is off. I have fat in my stool all the time, so the celiac is not suprizing. I have unexplained chronic anemia despite my diet, also another factor in malabsorbtion in cases like celiac. I had abnormal bruising and it was a deficit of vit K, and they did find that quickly. I know what you are saying, but I really don't think that is the case. I do think it can happen too, but don't think that is what is going on. I am going to go see a dr that practices natural medicine and see what happens.

I tried to read everything but... missed stuff. So did they get conclusive results - it's petechiae, celiacs, lupus? Or is it still all inconclusive? I'm so sorry you're going through so much.

Also, I get bruises on my limbs. Without any provocation. And my maternal grandmother was like that. Big bruises, usually on legs, sometimes on arms. Have you been in a fight, people would ask? Nope. Out of the blue (no pun intended). Every once in a while. No memory of falling or hitting something. But again, I have never worried about it because both she and I have been like this all our lives. If something happens all the time and we do not die from it, then it is probably OK. Since it has never happened to you, I'd be worried. |

My wife has similar issues. It's either fibromyalgia - lupus or thyroid at this point... or a combination. She has extreme bouts with dry skin all over her body that mimics scoriasis as well. Do you get that too?

I would say the most likely explanation is probably the right one - so I would guess its a reaction to the gluten or the lupus... But there is a condition called conversion disorder where you get actual physical symptoms (often pain but sometimes things like weakness etc) from psychological problems.

Is this the first time you have had the broken vessels? Ideally you should have bloodwork done to check your platelet count WHILE the spots are present. It can indicate a problem with your platelets. My husband occasionally has problems with his platelets and he will break out in these pin point red spots. The doctor always gives him steroids and it fixes him right up.
