For those of you that find your everyday life has become too much or find it difficult to balance work, home life, and extracurricular activities: here is the methods I use to keep myself from going completely mad. Works for me, so maybe it could work for you too.

At night or in the evening, I get out my Kindle in which I keep all the dates and times of all my appointments/commitments. A day planner would work just as well.

Using this information, I make a detailed plan of what I need to do the next day. Where, Why, and When I need to be places, How I am going to get there, in Which order I need to do things, including the basics like eating, bathing, sleeping, etc.

Then I go to sleep and try to get some adequate rest. My p-doc said I need 6 consequtive hours of uninterrupted sleep.

Next, I wake up when I need to, depending on the plan, and execute the plan made the night before. When the pre-work plan is completed, I head to work. Once there I make a second list of all the tasks I need to accomplish, and execute them one at a time, giving that task my entire attention and focus, finishing the first completely before moving to the next item on that night's agenda.

Once my work responsibilities are completed, I set to work planning the next day's events.

If executed properly, my day goes smoothly, no matter how much running around I have to do. Of course there are obstacles along the way that throw a wrench into things and can make the plan backfire, but that's life.

Best wishes and good luck!
