Maybe Triggering.

Am I the only one who's getting a little sick over gun violence in the media? There's two movies I want to see but I don't want to step in a movie theater. Today there was an armed robbery near campus and campus and most campus buildings were closed -- but Dining Halls, were I work, were still opened. I called off work because I didn't feel comfortable making the 20 min walk across campus getting there.

I feel like once the anxiousness was triggered from the thought of encountering an armed fugitive it wouldn't stop.

Now I'm resisting the urge to buy drinks from the grocery store closing in half an hour -- if I last until then, then I certainly won't want to walk anywhere farther away.

I blame the media for the increase in gun violence. If they wouldn't plaster the stories all over the headlines, the gunmen would not receive the fame and attention they were looking for, and there would be no motivation for copy-cat crimes.
