Okay, so, again, this might not seem like a Bipolar topic, but it affects me and causes some pretty harsh anxiety and for me to feel unhappy and uncomfortable.

As some of you know, I just got my first tattoo. It's really nice, and it has a lot of meaning to me...

But I have another tattoo I really want. But I don't know if it's just a jump decision or if it really means something to me...

I want to get a small cherry blossom branch on my foot, because they are my absolute favorite flower. I love them so much! And I happen to really like Japan too, so it makes me think of that.

Does it still seem like it has meaning or is it possible I'm just thinking of doing it because I think it'd look cute?

My mom is being... Not exactly against it, but she's doing the typical mom thing of "think about it thoroughly" and all that, so I'm really not sure. It's got me all anxious about it.

What do you think? And how can I assure my mom that it is what I want? When I'm sure it is?

Its good to get a tattoo that has meaning, but if you think it would look cute on you, why not go for it? Just realize that it might not look so cute 30 years from now.

I still think it might be cute 30 years from now... If it has meaning to me, then I think it would be okay. And... I kind of like the idea of being an old granny with tats. xD Not that that is a reason to get a tattoo, of course. xD

Go for it ! Just keep in mind the foot is one of the more painful places to have a Tattoo on. It is your body, do what you want

Go for it, to me it sounds like you've thought it through and want it so go for it and enjoy it. Nothing wrong with that.

If you don't mind, I'll hijack your thread for a second.

I have an idea for my next one. A quote, in large enough lettering to take up most of my entire back.

“Don't be too timid and squeamish about your actions. All life is an experiment. The more experiments you make the better.” -Ralph Waldo Emerson

Any thoughts?

I think you should definately get the tattoo. Live to make yourself happy not anyone else. The tattoo sounds cute and it sounds like it has meaning. Depending on your age, do you think you will really look at your feet and regret anything? Other than not getting a pedicure every 6 weeks. Also tattoos are pretty addicting. Have fun!

perhaps, you shouldn't get that tattoo just because you love japan...

I also loved Japan, thought it as the best country in the world until i saw this documentary...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Cove_(film)

killing humans, Koreans, Chinese, Russians i understand but killing dolphins now that's where i draw the line!!! Every country/human civilization has bad history... Japanese thought they were of god race...
so now France is my favorite country... even though they killed like thousands of Algerians, Africans before being kicked out of there... and yes dragged Americans into Vietnam when they couldn't control it...

you know what, you can wait for few months to get that tat... let first one fade a little... whenever i want to do shopping at first i decide which things to buy... i come home... i go back next day after thinking it for 24 hours and then i buy it.... still i got like 3 pairs of shoes,3 pairs of sandals, 6 belts... i dont know any other guy who has 6 belts!!!!

Once a guy asked opinion - if he should buy Porsche boxster,or is it too girly???
all the the guys answered and i think you can guess their answers...
some girls too answered their answers were like "as long as you buy in black it will look OK" "it doesn't look girly to me!" and so on...

you are not really getting any negative answers until you ask the guys...

I don't look at my tattoos anymore.

...all the excitement was in the going and the getting.

...I spose it depends what they represent?
it's probly also good I'm not loaded with cash then I would be covered in them...

cos they all represented a mood and a feeling and impulsiveness...(for me)

it used to be just a few people with tattoos in the population...now it's swung right around and it's the minority without them!

it's very difficult to be an individual today...tattoos won't do it.

but if the picture is cool..and you want it?

cos thats pretty much what it is...it's a picture...just as easy to get one on the wall in the lounge room...painless even...unless the thumb is hit with the hammer when driving in the nail

Well Darth, I'm afraid I dont fully follow you. I'm assuming a Porshe boxster is a girly sports car.

And what your telling me is that, in a man's opinion, getting an intellectual quote as a tattoo isn't too manly?

Well maybe the deer skull on my right shoulder and American flag tearing throught my skin with the words "America Love it or Leave It" on my left shoulder, would offset the "girliness" of the tat I proposed?

Thank you but... That isn't why I like Japan. I don't like the country, per se, there's only certain aspects about it I like. Such as the food. But I am not getting the tattoo for Japan. I'm getting it because it's my favorite flowers. But thank you.

Thank you to everyone! I suppose it really does come down to what I want and I know that it will represent something I really like, and if you really don't look back at them, after you have them for awhile, then I probably won't regret it. I'll keep thinking about it, though. It won't happen until this summer anyways.

Thank you. <3
