I just got out of an followup appointment with my psychiatrist. She does NOT think I've been in a mixed state because she says I have NOT had all the criteria for manic at the same time as all the criteria for depressed; she says I've been more on the depressed side. That the fact that I went out and spent a lot of money on getting my nails done was just trying to make myself feel better from being depressed, rather than manic spending. She's not changing my medications, but she did write some refills for 3 or 4 that are out. She thinks I'm getting better from the higher Zyprexa dose and I agree. The thoughts are getting quieter and less and less. I suppose I haven't felt really manic like I did last summer. If you read those, this is not that! So diagnosis is "bipolar depression and getting better" I guess. I can't see the official diagnosis code anymore since its all electronic as of late.

Well, maybe that's good.

I personally feel that being mixed has different levels, but I'm not a doctor. I know I can be either more depressed or more manic. Either that or I swing so fast I can't tell up from down any more.

And, I can tell it's getting harder for me to control my reactions to my moods as I get older.

Well i am feeling better every day so I think the zyprexa is helping. I don't know where that aweful anxiety was coming from if not mixed. Maybe just part of the depression. But as I say, I feel a lot better after a week on the higher dose.

Yes they do go together. I just hate when my thoughts start getting scrambled. Like right now, I just asked someone to get together with me on FB and he's quit replying. I mean, really! Why not just say no?

People can be so annoying! I agree, just say no if it's a no.... Or at least say AFK if you're in the middle with messaging and need to go make dinner or soemthing.

exactly, dark. I hate when people stop talking or just sign out. I realize if you're busy but say so.

I'm tired today. Wonder if that's the zyprexa dose still. I got up 7 hours ago. Shouldn't be ready for bed yet, but its too late for a nap since its 5 p.m. Maybe its just because its 5 p.m.?

You don't have to have ALL the criteria for both.

Yeah. What is it with having hypo/mania in the WINTER??! I don't think that's ever happened to me before. I went through my typical winter depression all through December, had a completely smooth January, and began ramping up around the start of this month. I thought it was the Geodon, but as I looked over my mood chart I realized it started before the new med did. It's been great for weight loss and energy---I've lost 10 lbs in the past two weeks alone, and 43 overall---but mania always turns on me and bites me in the butt. Like it's doing now. I'm talking and I CAN'T SHUT UP!!!

Anyway....WTF was I saying again? Gotta love that short-term memory loss!
