Geodon is making my hair call out and my stomach is a mess. Almost four months of this crap. I'm only taking 20mg..is this normal? Can I just stop taking it?

Regardless, I'm done. I'm tired all of the time and feel sick. I can't understand why my PCP won't prescribe Ambien to help me sleep..Traz doesn't do it.

I know this seems like a disorganized thought. I'm sorry.

PCP usually won't proscribe narcotics. You need to talk to whoever prescribed the geodon like Monday morning because those are seriously not tolerable side effects.

If your side effects are intolerable you should go to the prescribing doctor and tell them that the side effects are not okay and you want to change your prescription.

My PCP is going to know. I tried telling her my hair felt thinner, but it's like she's not listening. She's the one who prescribed the Geodon. I've given it a good try because it did seem to help my mood, but this is horrible.

If you find a good pdoc then you can ask.for what you need...I'm on 4 because 1 makes 2 others work better together and it's totally worth it! Before I added the geodon my ad and.ms didn't work as well so the change really helped. And.I'm.on one more for.anxiety. yes I'm on 4. I.didn't want that many either but the combo works awesome for me. I.know you guys don't like geodon but it saved my azz. Don't be afraid of a pdoc...make it about what you want. For example tell them you want effective meds but you want to avoid taking too many. If their a good pdoc they'll listen to you!

Yeah that doesn't sound good. I wouldn't continue with that. Especially at only 20mg. I was on 180mg and had a couple of bad days of withdrawal but I don't think dropping 20mgs will mess you up any more than being on it already has. Do talk to your doctor first but really those are totally intolerable side effects especially on such a low dose and after four months. You gave it a good shot but sometimes it's just not worth it.

I'm on 5 psych meds because 4 weren't enough. It just works that way with some people. Nevertheless, you don't need to be on a med that a) isn't working and b) has intolerable side effects. I'm not even sure 20 mg does anything except make hair fall out.....I started out on that dose but quickly went up to 40 and then 80 mg. I lost a lot of hair too, but eventually it stopped.

MM, it just seems that more and more meds were being pushed all of the time. I want to be on as few as I can. At one point, four meds were being prescribed to help me sleep. I hate feeling druggy. My PCP is pretty good and I can talk to her..I'm just not sure what to do next. I am beyond frustrated.

Stand up for yourself and be direct about the side effects your having there are loads of other medications to try.

I spoke with my PCP. I'm going to start coming off of Geodon in two weeks. She is switching me from Celexa to Zoloft and hope it works on the depressive symptoms I've been having. I told her that Geodon has two go and she said to give things two weeks.
