Well, I am not sure if anyone is curious or not, but I do think someone asked for me to keep an update of what's going on with me.... I just went to the doctor today for my sleeping problem (meaning, I fall asleep randomly and can't stay awake for that long. Happens when I'm driving too).

Well, she seems to think it sounds like narcolepsy. So, I have to go see a sleep specialist and she said I'll need to do a sleep study for sure. There's still a chance I'm just not hitting REM sleep.

But, my parents are saying that I can't do it if it costs too much. I'm hoping insurance will cover some of it, so I can do this. I think this is really serious and needs to be taken care of.

But, that's the situation right now.

On a happier note, I'm finally pushing my boundaries and trying to drive more. I actually took myself to the doctor today and I got there just fine! I was really happy with myself.

As for the Latuda question... Is anyone on this? Does anyone know if it can make you drowsy? Like, really, really drowsy? My problem started two years ago and I just got put on Latuda, so I don't know if it has anything to do with it or not....

Thanks!

Im glad your doing well.

I never tried latuda but anti psychotics make people sleepy. It shouldn't produce narcolpsy though.

Okay, that is what I thought. I told my pyschiatrist before and he said it shouldn't make me as tired as I'm getting. Falling asleep randomly and while driving. So I'm hoping I can get answers from the neurologist.

I think the neurologist is needed. I don't know if there is a cure/meds to/for narcolepsy though. X.x

Hey I was on latuda and I had really bad, I mean really bad TD on it. They put me on congentin which helped somewhat. It sounds like u aren't having that problem with it so good luck with it.

Confused - There is not a cure. I think they can give you meds to help you stay more alert, but that's all they can do for you. So I'm really hoping that if I get to do the sleep study, they'll find it's just me not hitting REM sleep. I think you can fix that somehow. If not... Then it's just my luck to have something else wrong with me. D:

passion - I have not had any problems with this medication! It made me throw up for the first few weeks while I got used to it, but other than that, I have not had any problems! I guess this is a good example of how some meds affect others differently. I've been on it since last Fall, and it's really good for me. (:
