I am finally in a good place and the last time I seen my pdoc she wanted to take me off of some of my meds. She wants to remove the ones I started with. I understand her reasoning that they may not be part of the solution, but it scares the heck out of me to make any changes. I about freaked out when she brought it up. Now that I have had time to think about it, it makes a little more sense being I take so many. Still unsure if I want to "rock the boat" though.

Just don't go off them completely at once. Ask to taper down. It will be easy to go back up if those medications did help with your stability.

Thanks Confusedinomicon. I don't go back for a couple more months so that will give me time to build up the courage to try it.

My pdoc's rule is only 1 med change at a time and, depending on the medication, stepping down or up depending on what I'm doing. So if your doctor doesn't have that approach, then I'd tell her you want to be extremely conservative and cautious about going off medications and if it takes awhile you are okay with that.

My pdoc only works with one med at a time as well, unless these are in the same class, for example, coming off of one ssri while beginning another.
Congrats on making good progress and being able to adjust down! ![]() ![]() Bluemountains |
