I feel as if they've given up on me. Supposed to get a referral to see a psychologist... They said they were going to call to arrange an appointment but I've been waiting for a month and no call yet. They did tell me it'll take a few weeks. Maybe I'm being impatient, maybe its my crazy thoughts and emotions talking. I don't know. Apparently, the happiness and energy I had only lasted a week. It crossed my mind yesterday that maybe they just couldn't help me or they didn't want to. Maybe they didn't believe me. Thought I was lying or something. Should I just give up? Even my family thinks I should just get over it. It's just not as easy as they think it is...

Never give up.

If at first you don't suceed try, try, try again.

This is your health, this is your life. There is help out there. It can get better.

I'd give "them" a call to see what's going on with your appt.

Absolutely, you need to make the call, find out when you might be able to get an appointment. Become active in advocating for yourself and your treatment.

Don't think its all in your head. Know in your heart that you wouldn't waste so much time on this if it wasn't something that needed to be taken care of.

Hi,
I'm not sure if the referral is suppose to be processed through ur PCP. If so I would call back once more, ask to speak w/ a manager. You could also call ur insurance company and let them know.

Good luck

Definitely make a call to see what's happened about your appointment. Definitely don't give up. The sun is always behind the clouds even if though we can't see it, and the clouds are always going to clear and give way to the sun. Sometimes people do have the attitude that others should just 'get over it' because they lack understanding and insight. It is just ignorance talking. That is when I practice being a duck--let it roll off me like water; flap my wings and get rid of the angry energy it builds inside of me. Animals and nature can teach us a lot. Try not to listen to those types of comments. Just because they make them does not make them true. Good luck to you my friend. Keep us posted.

It would be totally responsible to call for inforamtion on how the referral is going. Remember that a lot of places have thousands of patients so sometimes it does take a while. And, being informed about what's going on is very reasonable.

Never, ever give up! I would call to "follow up" and ask if they "need any more information" from you. This is a time when it is important to step up with all you have and advocate for yourself. It might be really hard if you are struggling, but getting proper treatment will be worth it in the end. Do it, please- you are worth it.
