So, since I accidentally bought the lumosity subscription...l've been using it. There are little tidbits of quotes and advice from other members. Just got this one - I think DH you'll especially get something from it, cuz we both deal with this cognitive dysfunction bs (along with many other peeps obviously) and trying to work:

“Don't waste moments of cognition on negative responses when you get one wrong.”

Sounds simple but kind of an ah-ha moment for me.

This is exactly why I wasn't going to fix things any more here in my posts, but I keep fixing them (babbit? or embarassment? Both! )

I'm trying to do it. I fail. I keep hitting teh back space button to fix when I goof up on things here. I keep trying not to. The hwole pointis to show where I'm at. (Okay so I'm trying relaly hard right now to not fix things, LOL, becuse I need to stop.) I do with my stories as best I can to fix things a bit, so at least they are readable.

But here, I nee dto be real. Thanks for kicking me in the patns. I think soemtimes I need it.

Exactly - when you stop yourself with negative thoughts about the error you just made, you're wasting time toward pushing forward towards ones you're going to get right... That's how I took it, almost confusing myself trying to put it into words.

The idea is it's a little timed game/test - so if you stop after you got one wrong, you're holding yourself back from getting a good score on the timed part I suppose.

Yes, that's it exactly.

I also think if you focus on the negative and not the positive. I keept rying to focus on teh positive more. Not really good at that, but trying.

The idea is retrain your brain for more positives to keep you reward goal oriented and not waste brain power the "dammit" moments (which can turn into long dark depressions) ... Keep on keepin on
I'm just talking it through, my thoughts. We can do it!
