i had a coversation with a guy today iwas saying how i like this site because ppl can relate to what im feeling,so how i let him no i was bipolar and he proceeds to tell me im not that way and it is untreated acholism which can be some of i guess but it realy uppset me case i needed someone 2 listen and he says this to me that im not bipolar cause he sees me all the time and its becuase i need a drink or somthing to that affect .belive me i dont need a drink it makes me worse and i know that now..thx james

it is always difficult when people don't understand where we are coming from. many people don't understand mental health issues. they are ignorant so say uneducated and hurtful things. that is why places like PC exist. so you can have support when you need it, people who understand.

but in his ignorance, is he expressing concern for your drinking? many people self medicate as a way to deal with mental health issues.
