What do your hallucinations looking if you have them? I think I might be seeing things but I only see things from the corner of my eye.

The reason I ask is I have seen things in my house for a few months but now I am at work and thought I saw a white cat walk across the floor out of the corner of my eye.... But when I turned, nothing there. Trick of the light do you think?

I hope I'm just seeing light changes. I think I might be hypo today. I used to see a specific hallucination years ago when I was severely depressed but it hasn't happened in so long. Now it seems to be animals, cats really, and sometimes a person in my house.

Hope I am not hallucinating. Light changes please!!!!

Corner of the eye is generally considered normal. I often see cats walking around. I have a black cat but I used to have a gray one with stripes, and I often think I see him walking around. But, I know he's not here anymore. But they aren't hallucinations. Sometimes it's just something our mind does. It assigns shapes to things that are not clear. So you see a cat, but it was a light change like you said.

But, my actual hallucinations are never out of the corner of my eye. They are right in front of me. They are of a man in a blue and white striped shirt. My husband used to wear a shirt like that (he hasn't in at leas 5 years.) And he's about the same size and build as my husband. He's there, then gone. Sometimes I see him standing in the dark, it blocks out the light behind him, too, in the window. He's just a shadow figure standing in front of me, then he's gone.

It freaks me out.

But, he has no energy. It's just an image, and then gone. So, I don't think he's a ghost but a hallucination. I don't see him very often. And, in fact, ever since my husband moved his computer into our room, I haven't seen him at all. I ususally see him around our bedroom door.

I tend to get the corner of the eye trickery going on a lot, and I like to believe that it's completely normal.

I've never had a full on hallucination. I don't think. Usually if it's something visual, it's more of a complete blinding affect and my mind goes somewhere completely different and I see a full picture of being somewhere else. Like a vision more than a hallucination. If that makes any sense.

But as for the corner of the eye things, I think those ARE just lighting anomolies and I think a lot of people experience those.

I have seen things out of the corner of my eye, but only in mania & when I was running on virtually no sleep for a few months in a row. During that time I thought I saw someone behind me, turned around & no one there, more than once. I also thought I heard my name called a few times. Part of me thought maybe it was a guardian angel - delusional thinking?

I don't think out of the corner of your eye is too alarming or abnormal but worth mentioning to your Pdoc if it gets more prominent.
