Bad periods to the point where you have trouble functioning, socializing and/or severe agitation, irritability, depression, etc.? And at what age did this start for you?
I would say I struggle with mine on a daily basis starting ~14. I don't know what others experience. (I'm pretty sure that BP runs thru the entire side of my grandmother's family including mother, uncle. My PDOC doesn't seem to really care about that which I can not understand.) __________________ Forget the night...come live with us in forests of azure - Jim Morrison |

It depends. In general I got through "bad times" for long stretches of time about once maybe twice a year. (These are times that last a month or longer.)
But I'll also have bad stretches that last only a couple of days. These happen once every couple of weeks. This started happening when I was about 16 years old. __________________ .age: 34 female .bipolar I .psychosis .panic/anxiety disorder Seroquel XR 100mg Labetalol for high blood pressure

My BP 1 onset started at age 35. I had a depressive episode (lasted 7-8 months) summer/winter 2011. Mania (lasted 2 months) spring/summer 2012, hypo (last 1 month) summer 2012. Depressive fall 2012- currently still suffering.
