Is this form of therapy used for Borderline Personality Disorder treatment? I know they use DBT treatment because I am in DBT but once I had a counselor that tried to do the self-parenting thing and it really worked on me. Has anyone else had any sort of use for this form of therapy for Bipolar or Personality disorders?
I have been diagnosed as Bipolar II, Antisocial Personality Disorder, Borderline Personality Disorder, and Post-traumatic Stress Disorder. Does anyone know where I could learn more on treatment for Antisocial and Borderline Personality Disorder? |

There are forums here specifically for those in the personality place of the forums, click the list of all forums and hopefully you'll find it. Many here have bp & bpd like you. I'm learning more about bpd personally. And welcome to the forums btw
So I didn't do that therapy but something similar in mindfulness therapy, she did meditations with me. And the ones going back to childhood I found pretty irritating, like we'd meditate climbing a tree as a young girl and she wanted to know why I was outside alone and what I needed, where were my parents? I really got annoyed cuz felt like well it was the 70's and I lived in the woods and my friends are the elves and my parents are doing whatever I never really thought about it. Maybe she was onto something. I do find self nurturing helps me feel better, rest when I need it, nicer self talk, cuddling my pillows in comfy bed. Could that be a form of self parenting inner child? |
