well recently i have been feeling really lethargic... my life is going well... except my concentration has gone down... and i feel like i'm gone in another reality... everything is a blured visually....
but the lethargy is worse... i'd rather not state what i feel too much... i don't want to put others like me down... so i want to wean off my medications because i gather it's been causing this weird sensations all over my mind... my delusions are fine... they are practically non-existent, my hallucinations are just part of society, like any other human i can reason with... but my mind is getting worse in terms of functioning.... though my behaviour is fine.... right now i'm taking zyprexa 5mg solian 250mg and epilim 400mg... i think i want to wean of these meds and see where i can go without the drugs... success stories would be appreciated and so will advice on the contrary thanks in advance, ![]() Frokly |

I haven't taken any of those, so I can't give you advice/experiences specific to them.
But I was wondering if maybe there is one in particular (or 2) that is making you so groggy, etc., which you could try to eliminate, instead of all three? I feel like if you were to titrate them down one by one you could get a better idea as to which is affecting you this way and needs to go, whereas if you eliminate all three at the same time you won't know. What do you think? |

Hello, Frokly,
In my opinion, you should talk with your psychiatrist first before you consider weaning yourself from medications. The advice the psychiatrist gives is important because at least one of your meds is an anti-psychotic and it might be that you need to know which ones, if any, can be safely removed from your med schedule. Please check with your doctor on this idea. |

I can empathize with you and plan on talking to my pdoc during our visit on Tuesday about weaning. It can be dangerous to do alone without other meds to help. I did it by myself a little over a year ago and ended up in the hospital. There is always the chance of seziures during withdrawal especially during the first 2 weeks so they gave me phenobarbatol but each med needs different treatment. It was dangerous for me to wean such dangerous and so many meds at once and I was nothing but lucky that nothing happened to me. Talk to your doc they will understand;

u should never take your self off your meds by your self, u dont know what will be consquences, talk to your psych defintely, he should know what one is the problem, it might be just the dosage, trust me sometimes it takes a while to get it right, then sometimes u have to keep adjusting it, I have been on tons of stuff that now I have to carry a list of what I take because I cant keep track of what I am on now. But I completely trust my psych and his ability to do his job, I wouldnt want that responsibitly. At least talk to him before u do it.
