Every day for three weeks I get a sore throat, fever, cold chills and headache from about 3pm in the afternoon until about 8 pm.

I am on geodon and Lamictal. According to the side effects of these meds either one can produce theses symptoms.

I wonder which of the two is causing this.

It is awful to have to cancel plans for the evening due to feeling so bad I have to lay down, squirrel under a warm blanket and watch the shadows float across the walls. But it gives me peace.

Has anyone here experienced flu like symptoms with either geodon or Lamictal during the afternoon? I take both meds twice daile...in am and then b4 bed.

If you just started the meds, do call your doc right away. If you began one more recently, suspect that one. If you have been on them long term, call the doc. (maybe it isn't the meds)---if it is the meds(or one of them) this is a side effect that NEEDS to be reported and evaluated.

I experienced flu-like symptoms from 5 pm to 9 pm everyday for years. It was due to depression. Depression can actually cause those kinds of symptoms. I didn't know that at the time. It was exhausting! I, too, had to cancel evening plans or just not make any.

As Winter4me said, if these symptoms coincided with starting your med(s) or changing the dosage, do call your doctor right away. If not, then it could be depression.
