Pain of a 10 ... I gave my Husband all my Meds so I don't take 30-40 pills like I did last week.

It hurts to even breathe. Fibromyalgia is going to be the death of me one day.

There needs to some kind of treatment for this horrible ****!

Ugh.

So sorry about your pain. I also have fibro and I know what you mean about needing better meds. Have you tried something like Lyrica?

Hang in here. A real-life friend of mine is in your situation right now. She takes Lyrica, but her prescription got messed up and she hasn't been able to get it yet.
Thanks for this!

Christina, I can relate. I don't want to take any additional prescription meds ( my pdoc suggested cymbalta), so I take aleve 2x daily...when I wake up and when I go to sleep. I figure the med works while I'm sleeping to rejuvenate whatever joints, nerves and muscles are affected worst. I also sleep longer than I'd like to when the pain is unbearable, just to give my body a rest. I hope this works for you. Hugs.
Thanks for this!

Someone I know takes Pristique. That seems to help her; she also relies on meditation.
Before that, she had said that she literally spent two years of her life in bed.
Thanks for this!

I'm so sorry, Christine, I know what it's like to go through excruciating chronic pain, day in and day out. It affected (still does, not as much) every single aspect of my life.

I have Central Pain Syndrome, from spinal cord damage, which means, amongst other things, anything (i.e. clothes) brushing against my skin is excruciating (allodynia), as if my skin had been torn off down to the nerves, and the nerves are out there exposed to everything. It's hell.

I tried everything, including all the anticonvulsants, and what finally worked and in a long-term way, is methadone (also for heroin addicts, yes, also for severe chronic pain, nerve-related or otherwise). I don't know if it's ever been tested/used for fibromyalgia. It's very strong (more than morphine) but has some component to it (forget what it's called) that addresses neuropathies. Doctors are hesitant to use it: dangerous titration phase + narcotic, though some like it in part because it is not considered *too* addictive (unlike, i.e. oxycodone) either psychologically (no euphoria) or physically.

In any case, I get it. The only thing that would ever help, aside for this med and for a short time another, is lying down and not moving, moving hurts like heck.

Some people say reike has helped them with chronic pain -have you tried that?

If this waxes and wanes for you, maybe try to keep mind that it won't be forever, that this exacerbation will end. Distraction to try to, even if it's only for minutes at a time, 'forget' about it helped me at times.

I feel like this is all obvious advice, and people giving me obvious advice when nothing would help used to drive me nuts. But it's all I can offer. Maybe imagine what you will feel like, what you will do, when this exacerbation has taken its course.

Lots of hugs to you
Thanks for this!

I have tried every freaking medication out there and nothing , not a single bit of it help, I have tried everything exercise, medatation, hypnotherapy, yoga, Diet, etc I have even gone to the hospital with my doctor and had me put under to see if when I woke there was even a slight decrease. NOPE!

My normal pain is a 7 on a scale of of 1-10. At least at a 7 at a 9 I can breathe deeo . Level 10 I cant even breathe deep.

This has going on for 4 years .. One would think I would be use to this by now

Getting used to it... Of course you haven't and you can't expect this from yourself, only to deal with it however you can, whatever works. I so hope you find a treatment that works for you and have moments, however long or short, when the pain is lessened, and then more moments, and more moments...
Thanks for this!
