Does anyone else do this?

I'm at work right now and have been listening to the same song on loop for about 2 hours. (Good song, btw: The Show Must Go On by Queen.) And yesterday I listened to it for a solid 3 or 4 hours.

Also, I've been known to binge on movies. Becoming so obsessed with a movie that I'll watch it 2 or 3 times in the same day. And if I can't watch it, it actually makes me anxious. Yes folks, I realize THAT part is probably not normal.

I've never been one to do drugs and I haven't really had hard core drinking binges since college. And even then it wasn't anything out of control. But I've done the song/movie binges since I was about 12 years old.

Just wondering how alone I am in this.

YES. I do this especially while writing. My most recent was with "Fully Alive" by Flyleaf. Another was with "My Finest Hour" by Matthew West.

Yup. If it's a song that gives me hope or makes me feel good, I'll listen to it over and over. And movies; the ones I watch whenever they're on is Smokey and The Bandit, The Natural, The Blues Brothers, Animal House, Kelly's Heroes, That Thing You Do, Big. Television series; House, Doctor Who and Through The Wormhole. Music; Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Toby Keith, Frank Sinatra, Linda Ronstadt, The Eagles, The Stones... Okay, my brain is getting ready to go into warp speed.

I'm glad to hear that I'm not the only one that does this!! I kind of go in phases. I listen to something SO much and then I just move on when I can't even bring myself to keep listening to it.

Some of my most recent music binges were Imagine Dragons, Lana Del Rey and Evanescence. BUT! I have an extreme soft spot for the Beatles.

My current movie binge is Silver Linings Playbook, the one before that was Rocky Horror Picture Show. But my biggest binges were probably What Dreams May Come and the Beatles movie: Help. I think I binged on each of those every day for at LEAST a year. It was bad. I mean like "I wore out the DVDs" kind of bad.

Rocky and Rocky II. Saw them both with my dad when they came out and we were cheering with everyone else in the theater. Great memory of a great man. Miss him everyday and every morning and every night, I say hello to a picture of him and my mom, say goodnight to them before going to bed.
Hugs from:
