Two scares recently:

1) I misplaced my passport. I will be flying to Canada in a month to meet with my son - I badly needed to find the passport.

Could not find it. No memory of where I last put it.

Ultimately found it, and, relieved, rented a safe deposit box at my bank and put it there. $35 a year for renting a safe deposit box - I should have long done it because I regularly have "episodes" of "lost but not found" with all sorts of important things. I cannot put my cell phone into a safe deposit box at the bank - it would defeat the purpose - but at least I can trust the bank with my passport.

2) Had a pregnancy scare. Logically, I realized that I could not have become pregnant (Mirena IUD+condoms used faithfully), but I was SO nauseated - it was horrible!!! Two doctors said that I really could NOT have conceived with that much protection, but advised to do home tests just to breathe a sigh of relief. Yup - did two urine sticks - not pregnant. It is not clear why I was so nauseated - I am going through some of the symptoms of underactive thyroid (I have been taking Synthroid 25 mg for a week) and nausea is one such symptom, but the endocrinologist wrote that the degree of my nausea was not explainable by diminished thyroid function alone, and recommended I see the GP. I feel better and want to wait it out and not spend more money of medical visits.

w00t Canada! (Can say that as a Canadian ) I'm glad that you found your passport, I'd be in a right state if I couldn't find mine either! (This year I happened to lose my health card.... I don't know what happened to it... as I found my health cards from my old province, my health card from when I lived in England, everything BUT my health card for this province - I even found a majorly outdated fishing licence!)

I had a pregnancy scare too earlier this year. I just kept feeling ill and it wouldn't go away, but otherwise I felt fine. After having enough people jokingly ask if I was pregnant... I got really paranoid and bought myself a test to make sure.

I'm glad that the scares have been close calls and have worked out in the best manner for you!!!!
