That's what my pdoc told me too. He tried to switch me to that but I declined since my weight gain from Seroquel has kinda stabilised.

I was on Geodon for abiut a year and a half and I actually lost weight. My nerves were shot though because I was going through a divorce during that time. Life calmed down and I was put on seroquel and gained prob around 40lbs then switched to abilify which actually pulled me out of the worst depression I have ever had but I gained another 20lbs. I have been off of all AP for about 8mo but yhe weight just will not budge. The only time I lost weight within this time frame is when I took topomax for migraines. I lost like 40 but I had to quit taking it due to the stupidity it caused. I had major brain fog and cognitive problems. All the weight is back and will not go away.

I've been on Geodon for 2.5 years now, and I've not had weight gain. I've actually lost 26 lbs in the last 6 months.

What's so special about abilify? I took it, and it made me severely suicidal. I stay away from the stuff.

as far as I knew abilify and geodon what is the only weight neutral one but geodon seems to have scarier side effects.

I honestly do not thing any AP's or atypical's are weight neutral. Too many that claim that aren't weight neutral for all. Everyone reacts differently to meds.

I think the best thing to do is a weekly weigh in.. If you can't handle seeing the numbers ( like me) Step on backwards and have a trusted person to watch over and see if there is an increase.

MM I know this is a hard decision for you. I hope you can find one that your willing to try.. Scarey stuff

I am still drinking V8 I bought from Costco when you recommended it, when I was not eating due to the anxiety over hoping to reconnect with my son. Thank you! Works great, every time I get a little anxious, I drink it.
