Hi guys, I'm having the contraceptive rod implant tomorrow and I'm just wondering if anyone with bipolar has one or has had one and want to know their experiences with it. How if at all has it effected you as I'm really concerned about how its going to effect me. I know everyone is different on their reactions to things but just wanted an idea of what I may expect. Thanks for reading

I had one in for about 6 months. It really messed with me. But then again all BC messes with me.
Thanks for this!

Just exacerbated my mood lability, but not to any great extent. The main problem for me wasn't the changes in mood, it was that it made me "on" (if you catch my drift) for all six months that it was implanted before the doc finally agreed to take it out- nightmare!!
Thanks for this!
