Grr..... I need sleep but it won't happen. How do I remain sain w/o sleep?

I don't know if it's because of my husband but sleep won't come. Currently he's in the if I worst depression I've seen from him since he's. beenmedicated. He refuses med changes or inpatient. I think he just doesn't see the possiblity of getting better. We got into an argument that I hid all the meds and sharp objects at 4 am. So I'm probably not sleeping because I'm worried about him.

OR

It's because my son is only taking 2-4 hr naps w melitonon before he bursts in to the room "Cramer style" to tell me about the latest mindcraft thing he made or ask I want anything to eat because he's cooking. I swear it's less than every 5 min. He's a locus when it comes to food right now. So I have to be up while he cooks, yes it's him having to cook or he's really cranky. By the way cooking, raiding the frige, and mindcraft at the same time doesn't work.

I'm tired, cranky, and at this point want to lock myself in a closet with a few hour nap.

How do I get that few hours nap or keep from going into an episode again w.o. sleep ?

Maybe you need to gently tell your son he needs to go play by himself for a few hours, if that's possible. Have some snacks set aside so he won't bother you about that and promise to help him cook something when you wake up. Maybe you need to explain to him you REALLY need some quiet time or you will get sick. And then you take a well deserved power nap.

It's really hard trying to be a good mom, but sometimes you have to be a little selfish. I don't think asking for a few hours to yourself is too much to ask.

I second comic's suggestions.

But the good news is on the 20th I have help coming so at least we can take shifts. Miguel lamictal was only uped like 10 days ago, so his apointment is in like 2 weeks but I don't even think my husband made another appointment with his pdoc. I know he has yet to fill his prescription. I feel like calling the med line and saying his ad is @ 30 mg because that what his pdoc was going to do if he got depressed again. Do you think that's okay to do? The receptionist refuses to send me to his pdocs voice mail or tell me if he has an appointment even though I'm on his papers to talk to. I'm about to call my pdoc for help or just wait until I talk to t on Monday. My birthday is going to suck!

Oh good idea , I can convince him to spend the night at a friends this weekend. He'll get sent home@ 9am but atleast that's something. I feel horrible doing that but they understand enough to keep him for a day.

Is it legal to shut off power in the kitchen by the breaker? It's like a power outage but home made. Leaving him my headphones, put screamo for him and hook him to the laptop.

I don't see why not. You aren't affecting anyone else.

I agree, I don't think it's illegal at all. (However, technically if you have a gas stove, the stove can still be lit without power... if he can figure that one out.)

My dad turned off the breaker to my room once, and he never got in trouble. lol
