Hi! I posted this in the new members area, but I thought I should also post here since I think that I'll mostly be hanging out on this board.

I'm SunriseCoffee, or just Coffee

I don't really know what to say, I've just been quietly lurking here for a while, looking for comfort, I suppose.

Recently been given a dx of bipolar I with mixed episodes and rapid-cycling..fun fun fun. I'm having trouble accepting it..am currently 28, have been battling this since about age 17, I suppose, even if it has only recently been given a name.

I just feel like I'm looking towards a long, bleak existence with this.

It doesn't have to be bleak. There is hope. Some people manage to live with it quite well. Not to say it's easy. I'm bipolar mostly depressed. Having problems managing the depression. Meds arn't helping this time, but I have had times when life seemed almost normal. Good luck to you.
