I've been going through some issues lately with what I feel is bipolar disorder. My relationship has hit a rough patch and I have gone to therapy a few years ago. With my recent insurance issues I can not afford to go back to therapy any time soon. I figured id give this a try and hopefully get some advice from people who understand. Much appreciation to all willing to help

Welcome. You have come to a wonderful place for help and support. There are several forums that you might look at. The relationship forum and the bipolar forum. Posting any specific things you want to talk about.

Check out the links above the threads for information. There are also some good books out there. I personally like Perfect Chaos. I would recommend doing some research but in the end, the only one who can diagnose is a trained psychologist or psychiatrist. If you can't afford that, try talking to someone else in your life, especially if you start considering suicide or self harm.
Also, if bipolar doesn't fit your symptoms but you still believe something's wrong, check out some other threads, like depression, or maybe research cyclothymia.
Try to stay away from self-diagnosing. You can probably tell the way you're feeling isn't normal, but it's hard to do so with an objective mind.
If you have any questions, I'll be glad to try and help.

Welcome Tray!

Even if you aren't diagnosed, this website can certailny still be useful to you. What makes you think that you may have bipolar? Try reading through some of the threads and see if there's stuff you relate to?

I would seriously try to consider County Mental Health . I know that sucks but it could be useful in the short time while you find a better solution. Welcome to the board.

Welcome! Bipolar disorder is a very tricky diagnosis, it can mimic a lot of other things and vice versa. If I were you, I'd seek out a psychiatrist (they're really the experts on diagnosis, not so much psychologists or GP/PCP's) at a free or low-cost clinic. Good luck!
Thanks for this!

Welcome! The community here on psychcentral is amazing and has proven to be very beneficial for me. I get help to a lot of questions I have that come up about bipolar. The thing I'd also like to remind you though is none of us (that I know of) are doctors so the advice given is purely based off experience. To help you the best for your situation I would highly recommend seeing a licensed psychiatrist. You can even call around because some (especially county ran) offer services at a sliding scale so what you pay is based upon what you make. Good luck!
