...I don't know where to start. I have BPII. Was on here a while ago but was traumatized by some of what I read so stopped. But I need this group so much. I was in an IRL group for three months this year but it ended and not one single person wanted to continue with chatting or emailing after. This has been hard to accept and has made it impossible for me to reach out again for help. Like why bother? I see my Pdoc about every 6 weeks for meds but Pdoc is tired of my same old complaints, telling me my spouse isn't going to change, etc. etc. I did some CBT, thought diary, mood monitoring, sleep charts etc. in the IRL group which helped but was really just an introduction. I have since stopped all record keeping. I need ongoing help on a wide range of issues. Suggestions how move forward in baby steps?

Have you tried finding a therapist instead of just a pdoc? Pdocs don't usually provide therapy and a T could help you continue the CBT you started in the support group. Also go to the DBSA website and see if there is a group near you. Fthats another IRL support group.

Welcome! Hope you keep coming back.

I'd second the recommendation to find a therapist to help you out too!

If this website traumatized you, well, I don't know what part of the forum or what was going on that caused that? Because I'm sure that you could mostly stick away from triggering subjects as most topics are fairly clearly labelled! So far this has been a great resource for me! I hope that it can help you out ore this time around.

Yes I would like to find a new T but It is such a huge task. I used to have one as part of my care with my Pdoc but they took that away as there were people who needed it more.

Start doing the thought chart again so you'll have an overview for your new therapist. Community health should have a list of resources of groups. Your general dr could have a list of therapist but look at you online providers list. Your pdoc may be able to recommend a fit. I know for my health it's best for me to have a team that works closely which for me includes: any of my family's therapists and pdocs, my gp, and nutritional team. If you are having trouble with your husband please try marriage therapy.
