when you have been brought to tears by beauty...

1) seeing Andre' Bochelli hit the last note of Con Te Partiro LIVE!
2) Viewing Lavender Mist: Number 1 by Jackson Pollock
3) Seeing my sons graduate from 6th grade in their collar shirts and ties. (this NEVER happens)!

Listening to "You Raise Me Up" by Josh Groban

Being at Mass and hearing "Dona Nobis Pacem" (Grant Us Peace) played on strings and sung by our priest

Looking out over a valley filled with autumn trees of every shade and smelling the incredible aroma of wood smoke blended with a hint of cinnamon from someone's baking

Helping put my first grandchild to my daughter's breast for the very first time

Listening to my son's high school band play just about anything (they are truly phenomenal - one of the best music programs in the nation)

Watching my three sons get along so well in their own odd, brotherly sort of way (they make me laugh so hard I cry)

Seeing 5 generations of our family all together en masse at our family reunion (we are truly blessed with a prolific and loving family)
Thanks for this!

Perhaps cliché, but I cried when I heard my baby cry for the first time behind the C-section drape. It was such a long and scary road to bring him into this world and the mix of joy and relief and excitement made me cry happy tears. I remember saying to my husband, "I know some days we are not going to enjoy that crying, but right now it is a beautiful sound."

Getting a little choked up thinking about it right now.

I almost cried when I went to see ozzy when I was 16, he was always me favorite singer and had listened to him sense I was 9. The consert was in a football filed and the crowd was huge. I was crowd surfing being picked up where I could see everyones hands, and ozzy was spraying us all with a big tube of foam. I didnt almost cry because of seeing ozzy, just the great music and the whole thing in general. Conserts where my favorite thing when I was young, now I just never want to bother to go, too much anxiety and I dont see the point cause I dont drink anymore and everyone else will be.

Its interesting how many of us are moved intensely by music...either the music of nature (baby crying, etc) or composed music/musical experience.

Music is also very moving to me. A lot of classical works, when played by epic orchestras... get's me every time.

Degas, Van Gogh... all impressionism in general... just something about it.

But, if we're being perfectly honest it doesn't take much. You get a well timed AT&T commercial and I might cry.
